IDF Forces Neutralize Terrorist After Vehicle Identified in West Bank Attack

Israeli security forces have killed a terrorist who carried out an attack in the West Bank, following the identification of his vehicle in the village of Qabalan. Initial investigations reveal that the terrorist's car was located in Qabalan, after which artillery corps fighters entered a house where he was hiding. The assailant attempted to stab the forces and was shot and killed by the company commander and his liaison, Avi Ashkenazi.

Following the attack, a cordon was placed on three villages in the area for several hours. The vehicle used by the terrorist, which belongs to a family business, has been seized by security forces.

This operation is part of a broader security effort in the Judea and Samaria region. Over the past month and throughout August, the IDF, Border Police, Shin Bet, and the Judea and Samaria District Police conducted approximately 500 counter-terrorism operations. These included brigade-level operations, an airstrike that eliminated three terrorists in Jenin, the demolition of a terrorist's home, the destruction of dozens of weapons manufacturing workshops, and over 40 special arrest operations. In the last month alone, more than 40 weapons, including M16 rifles, hunting rifles, and pistols, were seized, along with parts and equipment for weapons and substantial military gear.
