Israeli Forces Kill Armed Terrorist, Arrest Four Suspects in Samaria Operation

The Israeli military (IDF) announced that its forces killed an armed terrorist in the village of Aqraba in Samaria during a large-scale operation against terrorist cells in the region overnight Monday to Tuesday. The operation, involving IDF soldiers, Border Police, and under the direction of the Shin Bet security agency, targeted the villages of Qabalan, Usarin, Aqraba, and Yitma.

In Aqraba, Israeli forces arrived to question a man affiliated with an unspecified terrorist organization. According to the IDF, the suspect threw a Molotov cocktail and an improvised explosive device at the soldiers upon their arrival. No soldiers were reported injured. The suspect then barricaded himself inside a building.

Israeli forces initiated a "pressure cooker" procedure, surrounding the structure and gradually increasing pressure to force the suspect out. After entering the building, fighters from the Nahal Brigade's reconnaissance unit killed the man, who the IDF stated was holding a knife and intended to attack soldiers.

During the broader operation, four additional wanted suspects were apprehended. These included three men suspected of arms trafficking and one individual allegedly preparing an imminent attack, according to the army. Israeli forces also questioned approximately 60 suspects and searched 70 sites across the involved villages, seizing ammunition, a grenade launcher, and various military equipment.
