Likud Court Orders Netanyahu to Submit Candidate List Within Two Hours

The internal court of the Likud party has mandated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to submit the official list of party candidates for the upcoming Knesset elections within the next two hours. According to Ynet, Netanyahu was allocated eight spots on the list for candidates of his choosing, plus one reserved for Defense Minister Israel Katz. So far, Netanyahu has confirmed only three of the eight candidates he is entitled to select. These confirmed candidates include businessman Oren Dobronsky, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, and the chairman of the party's Central Committee, Haim Katz. The remaining five spots are currently vacant, creating internal tension within the party as the official deadline for submitting candidate lists to the Central Elections Committee approaches tomorrow evening.

The court warned Netanyahu that if he fails to fill the remaining positions within the two-hour timeframe, the party will proceed with a secret ballot to select candidates for the open spots. This urgent directive stems from Likud's delay in submitting its official documents, with the final deadline for list submissions set for tomorrow evening.
