Israel Conducts Large-Scale Biological Terror Drill

Israel's defense establishment, national emergency services, and Ministry of Health are conducting a large-scale exercise simulating a biological unconventional terror attack. The drill, scheduled for September 8th and 9th, will take place at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem and in the city of Ma'ale Adumim.

During the exercise, residents and visitors in the affected areas can expect to see and hear increased activity from emergency and security forces, including sounds of explosions. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that this drill was planned in advance as part of an annual training program and is not related to any specific current threat.

The exercise aims to strengthen the preparedness of emergency bodies and medical institutions for such a scenario, which requires a combined response from security forces, the health system, rescue services, government ministries, and local authorities. The Ministry of Defense is leading the national response to unconventional terror events, coordinating efforts through a national crisis management team.

Participating organizations include the Ministry of Health, Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel Fire and Rescue Services, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and the Ma'ale Adumim Municipality. The drill will also extend to clinics operated by Clalit and Maccabi healthcare services in Ma'ale Adumim.

Despite the heightened activity and visible presence of emergency personnel, authorities have assured the public that routine medical services at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital and the clinics will continue as normal throughout the exercise.
