Hezbollah Reporter, Cameraman Injured in Israeli Strike in Southern Lebanon

Two Lebanese journalists, Hezbollah's Al-Manar channel reporter Ali Shebib and cameraman Mohammed Barjawi, were injured Monday in an Israeli airstrike in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon. Footage circulating online shows the moment munitions struck a building near their location, interrupting a live broadcast. Shebib sustained a leg injury, and both were evacuated to Al-Sheikh Ragheb Harb Hospital in stable condition.

The strike was part of a wider wave of Israeli attacks in the Nabatieh area. Lebanese media reported that seven people were killed and over 20 injured in strikes across the region. Additional reports indicated attacks in the village of Rman, also in the Nabatieh district, damaging a vehicle and a residential building. Conflicting casualty figures have been reported, making a definitive total difficult to ascertain at this time.

This escalation follows earlier Israeli strikes. On Sunday, Lebanese media reported Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, including Nabatieh, which resulted in two deaths and one injury, reportedly from a drone strike. The Israeli military stated last week that it had targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in the Nabatieh area in response to two explosive drone launches targeting Israeli forces. The military claimed these targeted infrastructures were used for planning and directing terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.
