Hezbollah Reporter Wounded While Broadcasting Live in Southern Lebanon

A reporter for Hezbollah's Al-Manar television network, Ali Shabib, was lightly injured on Sunday during an attack in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, while reporting live from the area. Footage released the following day shows Shabib broadcasting when a loud explosion is heard in the background. Shabib, a field reporter for Al-Manar who frequently covers the Nabatieh region and combat zones, was injured along with the channel's cameraman. Both were evacuated to a hospital.

Lebanese reports on Monday detailed 11 killed and five wounded in strikes targeting a building and a vehicle in the village of Rmeish, alongside other attacks in Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Ebel es-Saqi. Many residents reportedly fled their homes overnight following evacuation warnings and the wave of attacks.

Separately, an internal dispute reportedly preceded one of the Ebel es-Saqi strikes. According to Al-Hadath, a confrontation erupted between Hezbollah operatives and members of the Amal movement before the attack. Al-Hadath claimed Hezbollah was distributing weapons house-to-house in the village, prompting an Amal operative to open fire in protest. The report alleged that the building later struck was holding weapons transferred by Hezbollah.

The incidents occur amid developments on the Ali al-Tahir ridge, which has become a focal point of the conflict. Lebanese MTV reported that over 15 tunnels in the Nabatieh area were simultaneously detonated in a zone stretching from Yammouneh to Ali al-Tahir. There are fears in Lebanon that this activity is not isolated but signals a further expansion of the security zone in the country's south.
