Gadi Eisenkot Unveils 'Yashar!' Party Knesset List with Diverse Candidates
Gadi Eisenkot, former IDF Chief of Staff and War Cabinet minister, has revealed the Knesset list for his new party, 'Yashar!' (Straight Ahead!). The list features 30 candidates from varied professional and public backgrounds, with a significant emphasis on security figures, alongside representatives from local government, former public service officials, educators, and social entrepreneurs.
Eisenkot himself tops the list, followed by former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen at number two. Orit Farkash Hacohen, a former MK and minister, is third, and social entrepreneur Adi Altshuler is fourth. Fifth is Matan Kahana, an MK, former fighter pilot, and ex-minister for Religious Services. Hili Tropper, a former MK and Minister of Culture and Sports, is sixth.
The list continues with prominent figures from the public sector and security establishment. Shaul Meridor, former head of the Finance Ministry's budget division, is seventh, followed by Tair Ifargan, former Director-General of the Ministry of Labor. Ninth is Osherat Gani Gonen, head of the South Sharon Regional Council. Shira Shapira, an architect and former senior public servant, is tenth, and Inbar Harush Giti, director of service frameworks at the Ministry of Defense, is eleventh.
Further down the list are retired Major General and former MK Elazar Stern at twelfth, and retired Major General Kamil Abu Rokon, former Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, at thirteenth. The list also includes figures from social activism, education, and intelligence, such as Deborah Sharfian Bachar (fourteenth), poet and social entrepreneur Alex Rif (fifteenth), and Inbar Yachzekali, co-CEO of the Democratic Institute (sixteenth).
Rounding out the prominent placements are former MK Roy Folkman (seventeenth), Ramat Gan Deputy Mayor Yisrael Zari (eighteenth), and former Yeruham Council head Tal Ohana Hachmon (nineteenth). Eliassaf Peretz, a social entrepreneur and educator, is twentieth. The list concludes with figures from law, strategy, business, security, and local government, aiming to present a broad platform that blends security and political experience with managerial, social, and municipal expertise.
