The Knesset plenum approved Tally Gotliv’s immunity request on Wednesday by a vote of 61 lawmakers. The decision gives the Likud MK a political victory after a contentious process over her legal protection.
In her first response after the vote, Gotliv accused the attorney general of trying to undermine the right-wing government. “The attorney general has a clear goal: to sabotage, obstruct and blacken the right-wing government,” she said.
She added that she believed the attorney general was pursuing the government and would do anything possible to blame it for the October 7 attack. “There is a clear goal here, to whitewash the top of the Shin Bet and blacken the government in the October disaster,” she said. “We will never know how the October disaster happened to us.”
Gotliv said she was standing by her substantive immunity claim, arguing that her actions were carried out as part of her duties. “This was done within the framework of my role, for the people and for my job,” she said.
