Tally Gotliv Responds to Rumors About Netanyahu and Her Immunity Vote

MK Tally Gotliv addressed the uproar around her on Sunday, responding to rumors that the opposition is trying to recruit Likud lawmakers to vote against her immunity request. In a statement, she mocked what she called her detractors inside and outside the party, saying she had heard the opposition was trying to gather votes against her "substantive immunity," but that she would not be disappointed.

Gotliv said most coalition members understand "the magnitude of the hour, the magnitude of the persecution, [and] the magnitude of the discrimination," and will vote in favor of preserving her immunity out of responsibility and an appreciation of its importance. She also claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom "various strange zealots" have been falsely briefing about her, will come to the plenum to vote to keep her immunity in place.

She added that "mud and demonization" do not affect her or divert her from what she sees as the righteousness of her path. The post ended with a blessing for "the people of Israel." In recent weeks, many right-wing activists have argued that Netanyahu fears Gotliv’s popularity and wants to block her rise within Likud.
