Likud MK Tally Gotliv said in an interview with Channel 7 that she expects legal and political challenges over the Knesset’s upcoming vote, scheduled for tomorrow, on her request for substantive immunity. She said she is already hearing claims about how the Knesset House Committee handled the hearings, and suggested that different groups are preparing petitions to the High Court of Justice against the parliamentary process.
Gotliv sharply criticized the Movement for Quality Government, saying it serves what she called the “judicial junta” and not the public interest. She also attacked the opposition, arguing that some of its members did not take part sufficiently in the committee’s deliberations, yet later complained about how decisions were made.
On the case at the center of the immunity request, Gotliv said she never published the name of Shikma Bressler’s partner. She repeated her claim that Bressler’s partner works for the Shin Bet and said she is not retracting that statement. She stressed that, for her, the key issue is the principle of substantive immunity, not the postponement of the proceedings against her.
Gotliv also criticized Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, saying she did not attend the committee meetings on the matter. Asked about possible High Court intervention, she said, “I invite everyone to file a petition against me,” adding that if she is required to appear before the court, she will represent herself and present her arguments about the justice system and the Supreme Court.
