The Knesset plenum has begun debating whether to strip MK Tali Gottlieb of parliamentary immunity, with a vote expected to decide if she will be protected from the indictment filed against her. The case concerns the publication of the name of an Shin Bet officer who is the partner of protest activist Shikma Bresler.
Coalition chairman MK Ofir Katz used the debate to attack the opposition and Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara. He said the opposition had “flattered” Baharav-Miara, calling them “like an army of spineless people,” and said they had “shouted and screamed at anyone who asked her a question about her selective enforcement.”
The vote in the plenum will determine whether Gottlieb receives immunity from the charges connected to that publication.
