Shin Bet officer whom Tally Gotliv exposed petitions High Court to cancel her immunity
The Shin Bet officer whose identity was revealed by MK Tally Gotliv has filed a petition to the High Court of Justice challenging the Knesset’s approval of criminal immunity for her. In the petition, he asks the court to strike down the immunity grant and says the Knesset’s decision should be overturned.
According to the filing, Gotliv acted in violation of the Shin Bet law when she exposed him. The petition also says she spread false conspiracy theories that were rejected by the security establishment and by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The officer argued that granting immunity in this case amounts to a serious moral and ethical low point and harms Israel’s national security. The Knesset plenum had already approved the immunity before the petition was submitted, setting up a legal challenge to that decision.
