Safed teacher faces indictment over sex offenses against seven minors
Northern District prosecutors are set to file an indictment on Wednesday against a 65-year-old Safed resident who works as a schoolteacher, on suspicion of committing sex offenses against seven minors over several years.
The investigation began during the past month after police received several complaints. At first, the probe was covert, and investigators collected evidence and took testimony that strengthened the suspicions against him.
On May 19, the case moved into an open investigation and the teacher was arrested. His remand has since been extended several times by the Safed Magistrate’s Court while investigators completed additional steps.
According to the findings, the suspect is believed to have committed the offenses repeatedly, in numerous incidents, over a long period spanning several years.
