Northern District police said they will file a serious indictment on Wednesday against Moshe Saada, a 65-year-old Safed resident who works as a schoolteacher, on suspicion of sexual offenses against children. The case involves seven minors and, according to investigators, the alleged acts took place repeatedly over a number of years.
During the past month, police received several complaints that raised suspicions of severe sexual offenses against minors. After the complaints were filed, officers opened a covert investigation, carrying out multiple investigative steps, gathering evidence and findings, and taking testimony that strengthened the suspicions against Saada.
His remand was extended several times by the Safed Magistrate’s Court during the investigation, based on its needs. After the evidence was assembled, the Northern District Attorney’s Office was expected to submit an indictment with several counts relating to the seven minors and the repeated alleged offenses.
Police said they treat any suspicion of serious offenses very severely, especially when the suspect holds an educational role and responsibility toward students and young people. They added that they will continue to act decisively, without compromise and without fear, to expose offenders, protect the public, and ensure accountability for anyone who abuses a position of power to harm others.
