Israeli Arab Youth Indicted for ISIS Allegiance
The Northern District Prosecutor's Office on Monday filed an indictment against a 19-year-old youth from the town of Shibli, accusing him of belonging to and pledging allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS). The charges follow an investigation by the police in cooperation with the Shin Bet security agency.
According to the indictment, the youth consumed ISIS content online and declared his loyalty to the organization by taking an oath of allegiance. Police stated that the indictment resulted from a joint operation between the Northern District's Central Unit and the Shin Bet, as part of ongoing investigations into young men suspected of being influenced by and identifying with ISIS ideology.
