Israeli Strike in Southern Lebanon Kills One Amid Escalating Tensions
An Israeli airstrike targeting the town of Kfar Rman in southern Lebanon resulted in one fatality and two injuries, according to Lebanese media reports. The strike occurred concurrently with an urgent evacuation warning issued by the IDF's Arabic spokesperson, Lt. Col. Ella Waweya, to residents of the village of Deir ez-Zahrani in the Nabatieh Governorate. Residents of a specific building and adjacent structures were instructed to immediately evacuate to a distance of at least 300 meters.
According to the IDF, the strike and the warning were a response to a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah, which launched an explosive drone towards IDF forces. The military stated that the targeted structure was located near a Hezbollah facility and that it was forced to act with force after the organization violated the understandings.
Simultaneously with the warning and the strike in Kfar Rman, Lebanese channel Al-Mayadeen reported that the IDF also attacked a structure in Deir ez-Zahrani. Hezbollah has not yet responded to the Israeli accusations, as tensions in southern Lebanon continue to escalate amid mutual accusations of ceasefire violations.
