IDF Strikes Southern Lebanon After Hezbollah Drone Attacks, Two Killed

Lebanese media reported Sunday evening on a wave of Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, with two people killed and one injured in an attack in Nabatieh, reportedly carried out by a drone. These strikes followed an incident earlier Sunday where Hezbollah launched two explosive drones targeting Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military opened fire and downed one of the drones, with no Israeli casualties reported.

In response to the drone launches, the IDF conducted strikes in southern Lebanon, with Lebanese reports indicating the attacks targeted the area of Kfar Tibnit, near Nabatieh. The IDF stated Sunday morning that Hezbollah's actions constituted a "blatant violation" and that Israel "is now acting and will continue to act forcefully against the repeated attempts by the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm our forces."

Over the weekend, the IDF also reported striking Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure in southern Lebanon, including weapons storage facilities intended for planning and directing terror attacks. These strikes were in retaliation for a Hezbollah drone attack on Israeli forces the previous day, which also resulted in no Israeli casualties.
