Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon After Drone Attacks
The Israeli Air Force conducted strikes against Hezbollah terrorists and infrastructure in southern Lebanon on Sunday, in retaliation for earlier drone attacks launched by the group against Israeli forces operating in the border area. According to a statement from the IDF spokesperson, targeted sites included a Hezbollah command post located in a former hospital building, as well as weapons depots and artillery observation posts.
The IDF emphasized that precautions were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision-guided munitions and aerial surveillance. The strikes were a direct response to a Hezbollah attempt on Saturday to attack Israeli soldiers near the Al-Tahir ridge, where two attack drones were deployed against them. No Israeli casualties were reported in the initial drone incidents.
