Jerusalem Man, 23, Dies in Vietnam Motorcycle Accident

A 23-year-old man from Jerusalem, David Ben Lulu, has died in a motorcycle accident in Vietnam. Ben Lulu, who held both Israeli and French citizenship, was reportedly riding alone when the incident occurred. The accident took place last Friday.

Emergency response organization ZAKA, along with its French branch, is coordinating a complex logistical and diplomatic effort to repatriate Ben Lulu's body. His remains are currently located hundreds of kilometers from Hanoi, the Vietnamese capital. ZAKA is working with authorities in France, Vietnam, and Israel to expedite the process and arrange for his burial in Israel as soon as possible.

Serge Ben Haim, commander of ZAKA France, described the ongoing efforts. He stated that ZAKA has been in constant contact with French, Vietnamese, and Israeli officials since learning of the incident. He personally visited the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which issued necessary instructions to its team in Hanoi. The French Consulate in Hanoi was specially opened on the day of the report to facilitate the processing of documents.

ZAKA's operations are focused on overcoming the challenges of transporting the body from its remote location and ensuring a swift return to Israel while maintaining respect for the deceased. Haim Weingarten, ZAKA's deputy operations director, emphasized the multi-national coordination required for this complex case and expressed hope for a prompt completion of all procedures.
