Inheritance Dispute Ends in Murder of Brother at Carmel Beach Area
An indictment has been filed against Ohad Arad for the murder of his brother, Asa Shaul Arad, in a caravan in the village of Ein Ayala, located in the Carmel Beach area. The prosecution alleges the murder stemmed from a financial dispute over inheritance matters that had been ongoing between the brothers since 2022.
According to the indictment, Ohad Arad arrived at his brother's caravan on July 30 without prior arrangement. While inside, Ohad allegedly attacked Asa, striking him forcefully on the head and eye, and applying pressure to his neck and mouth in an attempt to suffocate him. Asa Arad fell to the ground during the assault and attempted to defend himself, but ultimately died at the scene as a result of his brother's actions.
Following the incident, Ohad Arad reportedly left the caravan, leaving his brother's body behind. He later informed their mother that Asa was dead but departed the village before emergency services and police arrived to confirm the death. Ohad Arad, 36, from Binyamina-Giv'at Ada, is charged with intentional murder.
The indictment was filed by the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office at the District Court in Haifa. Ohad Arad's attorney, Baruch Geva, is representing him in the case.
