Man Charged with Murdering Brother Over Inheritance Dispute in Israel
The State Prosecutor's Office has indicted 36-year-old Ohad Arad of Binyamina-Givat Ada for the intentional murder of his brother, Asa Shaul Arad. The indictment, filed in the Haifa District Court, alleges the crime stemmed from an ongoing financial conflict and inheritance dispute that began in 2022.
According to the prosecution's case, on July 30, 2026, Ohad Arad arrived unannounced at a "caravan" where his brother resided in the Ein Ayala locality. The prosecution claims Ohad then attacked Asa with the intent to kill, striking him on the head and subsequently attempting to suffocate him by pressing on his neck and mouth. Asa Shaul Arad died from his injuries.
Following the alleged attack, Ohad Arad reportedly left his brother inside the caravan. He later informed their mother that Asa had died after leaving the locality, prior to the arrival of police and emergency services. The charge against Ohad Arad is classified as intentional murder.
