Zichron Yaakov Council Member Rabbi Aryeh Pollak Dies at 65

Rabbi Aryeh Pollak, a long-serving public figure and member of the Zichron Yaakov local council, passed away on Friday at the age of 65 after battling a serious illness. His funeral was held at the Zichron Yaakov cemetery.

Pollak served on the council representing Degel HaTorah and the Haim faction. Previously, he held the position of deputy mayor. His roles on the council included chairing the property tax discount committee and the student loan fund.

In addition to his municipal duties, Pollak was the CEO of the Haredi community and its institutions in Zichron Yaakov. He was actively involved in public and community affairs for many years, working with residents and local organizations.

The Degel HaTorah party eulogized him as a "man of kindness" who dedicated many years to public service with faith. ZAKA, the emergency response organization, also mourned his passing, remembering him as a veteran of their northern team and a "man of kindness who did much for the public, especially in acts of true kindness."

Rabbi Pollak was the son of Rabbi Avraham Pollak, who served as a supervisor at the Slobodka Yeshiva. He is survived by his wife and family.
