Farmer Indicted for Violating Administrative Order After Arrest

Hours after his arrest in northern Israel, police filed an indictment and requested pre-trial detention for Tal Yinon Dardik, a farmer and father of four, at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court. The indictment, signed by Police Inspector Bar Cohen Kirma, charges Dardik with violating a legal order for failing to report for required check-ins at the Modi'in Illit police station. This order was part of an administrative directive issued by Central Command General Avi Blott. Dardik is not accused of violating an order restricting entry into the West Bank.

Dardik's attorney, Nati Rom from the Honenu organization, criticized the swift arrest and indictment, calling the administrative order "draconian" and imposed without due process. He stated that the order requires Dardik to report twice daily to a police station in a city he has no connection to, and that this practice must stop.

Upon entering the court hearing, Dardik himself described the order as impossible to implement, stating it restricts his movement, separates him from his home and farm, and mandates daily police check-ins in a city he has never visited. He characterized the order as "abuse and persecution" and called for an end to administrative directives.
