Gaza Truce Violations Continue With Israeli Shelling of Civilians and Hospital

Israeli forces have continued to violate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the 329th consecutive day, amid the ongoing war and widespread destruction since October 7, 2023. On Thursday, the Gaza Strip witnessed new truce violations, including intense gunfire and artillery shelling that targeted populated areas and displacement sites. Reports indicate that several civilians were injured by gunfire and shelling in the Qatari Hamad displacement and refugee camp, east of Hamad City, in the northwest of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. In Gaza City, Israeli artillery targeted eastern areas, while military vehicles continued to fire intensely east of the Al-Dawa neighborhood, northeast of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip. Areas northeast of the Al-Bureij camp also came under artillery shelling, while Israeli tanks targeted tents of displaced people in the cemetery area west of Khan Younis, damaging some tents. In a separate development, medical teams began evacuating Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip after it was subjected to direct fire from Israeli forces and shelling of its surroundings, threatening the safety of patients and medical staff and hindering healthcare services. These developments come despite U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement on July 31, 2026, of a new agreement paving the way for the second phase of the Gaza roadmap. Daily violations have persisted since the truce began, alongside the blockade and restrictions imposed on the Strip's residents, exacerbating the suffering of civilians and displaced people and threatening the stability of the ceasefire.
