Israeli Forces Strike Gaza Displacement Camps Amid Ceasefire Violations

Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the 329th consecutive day, amidst the ongoing repercussions of the war that began on October 7, 2023. On Thursday, new breaches of the truce, initially signed on October 10, 2025, occurred, involving intense Israeli gunfire and artillery shelling. These actions resulted in the injury of several civilians at the Qatari Hamad Camp for Displaced and Refugee Persons, located east of Hamad City in northwestern Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

In Gaza City, Israeli artillery targeted eastern areas, while Israeli military vehicles fired continuously and intensely east of the Al-Da'wah neighborhood, northeast of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Israeli artillery also shelled areas northeast of the Bureij refugee camp. Furthermore, intense tank fire from Israeli forces targeted the tents of displaced people in the cemetery area west of Khan Younis.

These violations come despite U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement on July 31, 2026, of a "new agreement" paving the way for the second phase of a "roadmap" for Gaza. Since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli forces have reportedly carried out daily violations, coinciding with a continued blockade and tightened restrictions on Gaza's residents. This exacerbates the suffering of civilians and displaced persons and threatens ongoing instability, despite declarations of a ceasefire.
