Paramedics Save Toddler in Bnei Brak From Choking on Sponge

Medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) successfully rescued a three-year-old boy in Bnei Brak on Tuesday after he choked on a piece of sponge. The boy's parents called MDA, reporting that their child was having difficulty breathing for unknown reasons. A team consisting of paramedics Eitan Englander and Michal Peles, along with medic Yosef Pesach, was dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the medical personnel found the child with a bluish face, on the verge of losing consciousness. The paramedics quickly identified that the cause was an obstruction in the airway. They extracted a piece of sponge from the boy's throat, which he had likely picked up from the floor or bitten off a sponge.

Immediately after the obstruction was removed, the child was able to breathe again, his face regained color, and he returned to a normal state. Although the child was taken to Beilinson Hospital for further examination as a precaution, the medical team stated that the boy was saved from certain death thanks to the timely intervention.
