Toddler Hospitalized After Choking on Sponge in Bnei Brak
Emergency responders were called to Bnei Brak following a report of a child choking. Paramedics treated a 4-year-old boy experiencing breathing difficulties after he allegedly swallowed a sponge. The child was transported in stable condition to Schneider Children's Medical Center in Petah Tikva.
According to Hatzalah paramedics Yossi Pesach and Gedalia Landau, upon arriving at the scene, they found the boy conscious but struggling to breathe. The parents stated that the child had swallowed a sponge. Emergency medical personnel administered initial treatment, including the Heimlich maneuver, in an attempt to dislodge the object.
The child was then evacuated to Schneider Children's Medical Center for further treatment, remaining in stable condition throughout the process.
