Geely Boosts Electric E5 Range to 475km, Adds New Starray Hybrid Trim
Geely is updating its electric vehicle offerings in Israel with the EX5 crossover now renamed the E5 and equipped with a larger battery, extending its range to up to 475 kilometers (470 km for the TECH+ trim) under WLTP standards. This upgrade maintains the same pricing as the previous EX5 models, with the PRO+ trim costing 161,990 shekels and the TECH+ trim at 167,990 shekels. The E5 features a 68.39 kWh LFP battery, supports 100 kW fast charging (30-80% in about 20 minutes), and offers 11 kW AC charging. Interior features include a 15.4-inch multimedia screen with Hebrew interface, remote vehicle control via the My Geely app, and advanced amenities like heated and ventilated front seats. The TECH+ trim adds front seat massage, electric passenger seat adjustment, memory for the driver's seat, a panoramic roof, a powered tailgate, a heads-up display, ambient lighting, and a 16-speaker sound system. The vehicle achieved a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP and ANCAP, and an 8/10 score from the Ministry of Transport.
Additionally, Geely has introduced a new ULTRA trim for its Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid. This new version boasts an increased battery capacity from 18.4 kWh to 29.8 kWh, boosting its all-electric range to 136 km, a 64% improvement. The combined range with the gasoline engine reaches up to 996 km. Fast charging for the Starray ULTRA is also improved, with a maximum power of 60 kW, reducing the 30-80% charge time to 16 minutes. The ULTRA trim also includes massage functions for the front seats. Both the E5 and the Starray EM-i ULTRA are now available in Israel.
