Geely Updates E5 Electric and Starray Plug-in Hybrid Models in Israel

Geo Mobility, the Israeli importer for Geely vehicles and part of the Union Group (which also imports Toyota), has launched updated versions of two Geely SUV models. The Geely E5 electric SUV now features a larger battery, extending its electric range, while the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid receives an upgraded battery and additional features.

The updated Geely E5 is equipped with a new 68.39 kWh LFP battery, an increase of 8.17 kWh, providing an extended driving range of 470-475 kilometers, an improvement of 45-60 kilometers. The electric motor remains unchanged with 214 horsepower, though acceleration to 100 km/h is slightly slower at 7.4-7.6 seconds due to the larger battery. The E5 supports 100 kW fast charging, reaching 30% to 80% in 20 minutes, and includes V2L and V2V (vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle) charging capabilities. Two trim levels are available: "Pro+" at NIS 162,000 and "Tech+" at NIS 168,000, both offering comprehensive safety features and achieving top ratings in Israeli and European safety tests.

The Geely Starray, a plug-in hybrid sibling to the E5, now offers a new "Ultra" trim for NIS 182,000. This top-tier version features a larger 29.8 kWh battery, boosting its electric-only range to 136 kilometers, compared to the previous 83 kilometers. It utilizes the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine and electric motor combination, delivering a combined 214 horsepower. The "Ultra" trim includes all features from the "Tech" trim, plus front seat massage functions and a towing capacity of 750 kg. Fast charging capability is also enhanced to 60 kW, reducing the 30% to 80% charge time to 16 minutes. Like the E5, the Starray "Ultra" also boasts high safety ratings.
