Airport Authority Rushes Hiring Ahead of Holiday Travel Surge

Israel's Airports Authority, the Histadrut labor federation, the workers' committee, and the Treasury's wage commissioner have reached agreements to manage the expected passenger and flight surges at Ben Gurion Airport during the upcoming High Holidays.

The agreements, forged in a meeting attended by the heads of the Histadrut, the Airports Authority's council, and the authority's CEO, aim to ensure continuous operations and service for travelers. A key outcome is the acceleration of the hiring process for necessary personnel, particularly in security, service, and operations roles, which are identified as critical bottlenecks during peak times.
