Airport Authority and Unions Reach Accord to Prevent Holiday Travel Disruptions

Following recent chaos at Ben Gurion Airport, the Israel Airports Authority, its workers' union, and the Histadrut labor federation announced a joint agreement on Tuesday to prevent further disruptions and potential strikes during the upcoming Jewish holidays. The accord, reached after a meeting involving top officials from the Histadrut, the union council, the Airports Authority, the workers' representatives, and the Treasury's wage commissioner, emphasizes a shared commitment to the airport's smooth and continuous operation.

All parties acknowledged the efforts of airport workers who have continued to work during wartime, even amidst air raid sirens and missile attacks. Looking ahead to the Tishrei holiday period, which typically sees high passenger traffic, the Airports Authority management, employees, and the Histadrut pledged to collaborate responsibly to ensure operational continuity and optimal service for travelers.

As part of the agreement, the Airports Authority will also expedite the recruitment of necessary personnel according to its planned hiring schedule, aiming to bolster operations and mitigate potential bottlenecks.
