Maccabi Tel Aviv Interested in Colombian Winger Camilo Mena
Israeli football club Maccabi Tel Aviv is reportedly interested in signing Colombian winger Camilo Mena, 23, who currently plays for Lechia Gdańsk in Poland. However, the transfer fee demanded by his club, reported to be 8 million euros, is considered exorbitant by Israeli standards.
Mena is also a target for Scottish club Rangers and French side Saint-Étienne. Lechia Gdańsk acquired Mena from Latvian club Valmiera for 1.6 million euros, and his current market value is estimated at 4 million euros by Transfermarkt. Last season, Mena scored 5 goals and provided 10 assists in the league. He has also previously been included in the Colombian U-21 national team squad.
The reported asking price of 8 million euros significantly exceeds the record transfer fee paid by an Israeli club, which stands at 3.5 million euros when Maccabi Tel Aviv signed Viðar Kjartansson.
