US Strikes Iranian Targets; Iran Retaliates with Missiles

The United States launched a wave of strikes against Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz region on Tuesday, according to U.S. Central Command. The strikes were a response to Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps attempts to target commercial vessels and U.S. military personnel in the area. Iranian media reported explosions in several locations across southern Iran, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Chabahar, Jask, and Sirik.

In retaliation, Iran launched missiles and drones toward U.S. bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. U.S. officials confirmed that Iranian attacks targeting U.S. bases in the Middle East were intercepted, with no U.S. casualties. The Jordanian military reported intercepting 10 ballistic missiles, with three falling in remote areas, while Bahrain's military stated its air defenses neutralized several aerial attacks from Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the escalating situation, warning Iran of a more severe response if it retaliated further. He stated his preference for the current situation, citing U.S. control over the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's collapsing economy, and questioned when the Iranian people would revolt.

Following the exchanges, the U.S. State Department renewed its travel advisory for the Middle East, urging American citizens to exercise increased vigilance due to potential travel disruptions and flight cancellations. U.S. embassies in several regional countries issued similar warnings, with the U.S. Embassy in Beirut cautioning that Iran and its proxies might target American interests globally.

Residents in Eilat, Israel, reported hearing explosions from Jordan and seeing smoke over Aqaba, with an interceptor missile observed heading towards Jordan. Official confirmation from Israel regarding the missile launch circumstances was not immediately available.
