Trump Warns Iran of Devastating Strikes After US Military Action

U.S. President Donald Trump declared that recent American military strikes on southern Iran are "just the beginning," vowing further "massive and devastating" attacks if Tehran retaliates. The strikes targeted Iranian sites near the Strait of Hormuz, which the U.S. Central Command confirmed were in response to recent attempts by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to mine the waterway and fire missiles at a U.S. military base in Jordan. Trump stated that all eight missiles fired at the Jordanian base were intercepted and that the Strait of Hormuz is now clear of mines. He issued a stern warning via his social media platform, Truth Social, stating that any Iranian response to the "justified attack" would result in a new, more powerful strike, with "the biggest strike of all" leaving "very little" of the Islamic Republic remaining.

The U.S. strikes, which occurred on September 1, reportedly hit strategic locations including Iran's Qeshm Island. The U.S. military action is framed as a direct response to Iran's alleged efforts to disrupt shipping and endanger American personnel in the region.
