Water Outage Forces School Closures in Negev Bedouin Towns

Schools and educational institutions in the Bedouin towns of Shaqib al-Salam and Tel al-Saba in the Negev were closed on Tuesday due to a prolonged water outage. Local authorities in both municipalities announced the suspension of classes, kindergartens, and all educational facilities, citing the lack of adequate sanitary conditions.

The decision was made to protect the health and safety of students and staff, as it was impossible to maintain the necessary conditions for normal educational activities. Officials from Shaqib al-Salam stated the move was out of concern for student and staff well-being, while Tel al-Saba's education department cited the same reason for its closure.

Both local councils assured residents that they would be updated on any developments. They expressed hope for a swift resolution to the water supply issue, allowing for the resumption of normal school operations as soon as possible.
