Israeli Striker Sayed Abu Farhi Joins Colorado Rapids in Multi-Million Dollar Transfer

Young striker Sayed Abu Farhi has officially transferred from Maccabi Tel Aviv to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer (MLS) for a reported $6 million, marking one of the largest deals in Israeli football history. The transfer fee includes potential bonuses and a percentage of future sales for Maccabi Tel Aviv, while Abu Farhi himself is set to earn a maximum salary of $800,000 per season.

Abu Farhi scored 15 goals in 52 appearances for Maccabi Tel Aviv. In the two seasons prior to his breakout performance, he was loaned out to Maccabi Bnei Raina and MS Kfar Qasem. His recent success has now made him the eighth Israeli player to join an MLS team, following in the footsteps of Tai Baribo, Liel Abada, Dor Turgeman, Idan Toklomati, Ilai Feingold, Orr Blorian, and Ran Benjamin.

Abu Farhi's final moments with Maccabi Tel Aviv were unusual, as he played as the team's goalkeeper in the closing minutes of a match against Hapoel Jerusalem after the team's regular goalkeeper, Ofek Malika, received a red card.
