Israeli Striker Eyad Abu Farhi Joins Colorado Rapids in Multi-Million Dollar Transfer

Eyad Abu Farhi, a promising young striker, has officially transferred from Maccabi Tel Aviv to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer (MLS) for a reported $6 million. This significant deal marks one of the largest transfers in Israeli football history. Maccabi Tel Aviv will also receive bonuses and a percentage of any future sale, potentially increasing the club's earnings as Abu Farhi's value grows. Abu Farhi himself is set to earn a maximum salary of $800,000 per season.

During his tenure with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Abu Farhi scored 15 goals in 52 appearances. His impressive performances in the previous season and the current pre-season were instrumental in securing this lucrative transfer. Prior to his breakthrough with Maccabi Tel Aviv, he had loan spells at Maccabi Bnei Raina and MS Kafr Qasim.

With this move, Abu Farhi becomes the eighth Israeli player to join an MLS team. He follows in the footsteps of fellow Israelis Tai Baribo, Liel Abada, Dor Turgeman, Idan Toklomati, Ilai Feingold, Orr Louriano, and Ran Benjamin who are also playing in the league.

In a notable moment during his final appearance for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Abu Farhi briefly played as the team's goalkeeper after their regular keeper, Ofek Malika, received a red card in the closing minutes of a match against Hapoel Jerusalem.
