Israeli Soccer Player Sayed Abu Farhi Joins Colorado Rapids

Israeli soccer player Sayed Abu Farhi has signed a four-year contract with the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer (MLS), as reported by Ynet. He becomes the eighth Israeli player to join the MLS, following in the footsteps of Tai Baribo, Liel Abada, Idan Toklomati, Dor Turgeman, Eli Feingold, Ran Benjamin, and Orr Louriyan.

Abu Farhi will initially earn $450,000 per season, the maximum allowed for players under 22 in the league, with an expected salary increase after two years. The deal is finalized, with the Colorado Rapids paying $5.4 million for the transfer. The cup holders had initially demanded that Abu Farhi, who was entitled to 17.5% of his transfer fee, forfeit $500,000 as a condition for his release.

Abu Farhi had a strong start to the season, scoring twice in a 3-1 victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Champions of Champions match. He also scored two goals in the first leg against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League qualifiers and netted a goal against Hapoel Jerusalem in the opening match of the Israeli Premier League.
