National Health Services Ranks First in Israeli Health Fund Survey
National Health Services has been ranked first in a comprehensive survey of Israeli health funds for 2026, based on patient satisfaction. The ranking, conducted by the Midrag website, involved over 7,252 reviews across four health funds, evaluating 16 different parameters including service, availability, and quality of care.
This achievement comes amidst significant challenges facing Israel's healthcare system. While overall satisfaction with health funds has increased since the previous 2019 survey, other funds have seen a sharp decline in appointment availability for specialists. This is particularly acute in mental health, where the ongoing war has led to a surge in demand for services.
National Health Services is actively addressing these challenges, particularly in mental health, by developing a digital triage system. This system aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of patient referrals, ensuring individuals receive appropriate care based on urgency and complexity. The project is a collaborative effort involving National's innovation unit, mental health team, customer division, and information systems, utilizing a platform from Diagnostic Robotics.
The survey results highlight National's ability to stand out and achieve high patient satisfaction despite a complex and demanding healthcare landscape. The organization views this as a significant public endorsement of its service quality and personalized care.
Recent data from the Ministry of Health also shows National consistently having the shortest waiting times across five key areas of child development: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, speech therapy, and developmental psychology. For instance, waiting times for speech therapy at National averaged 2.4 months, significantly shorter than other funds. Similar trends were observed in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, and developmental psychology, where National's waiting times were the lowest among all surveyed funds.
National Health Services attributes its success to ongoing investment in service improvement, community clinics, digital services, patient experience, and strengthening the relationship between medical staff and patients. CEO Chaim Fernandez stated that the ranking reflects significant trust from their members and reinforces the organization's commitment to continuous improvement and providing the best possible service.
