Likud Lawmaker Tali Gottlieb Eyes Justice Minister Role in Otzma Yehudit

Member of Knesset Tali Gottlieb stated on Tuesday that she wishes to remain in the Likud party at the 12th spot on its electoral list. However, she indicated that she would seriously consider a concrete offer from another party, specifically naming Otzma Yehudit. Gottlieb explained that if she is not given the desired spot, she would interpret it as an attempt to sideline her and prevent her from promoting her messages.

She elaborated that a specific proposal from a party she highly respects, reflecting her electoral influence and her four years of dedicated work in the Knesset, would be carefully evaluated. When questioned if she was actively seeking offers from other parties, Gottlieb clarified she was not speaking about "other parties" in general but was focused on a singular, specific offer.

Following her remarks, sources close to Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that he would be pleased to reserve a spot for Gottlieb within Otzma Yehudit, provided she reached an agreement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Gottlieb responded positively, expressing her strong desire for a concrete and favorable offer from Otzma Yehudit, which she would consider with utmost seriousness.

Further pressed on her aspirations, Gottlieb asserted that she should be the next Justice Minister, stating it would be beneficial for Israel and its people. She also mentioned that a position as Chair of the Constitution Committee would be an option she would seriously consider. Gottlieb praised Otzma Yehudit's chairman, Itamar Ben-Gvir, describing him as intelligent, diligent, and right-wing, and emphasized that the party should not be taken for granted.
