Likud Lawmaker Tali Gottlieb Considers Leaving Party Amidst Internal Strife

Member of Knesset Tali Gottlieb has stated she is open to considering a move to another political party under the right conditions, amidst reports of her holding discussions with alternative factions. Gottlieb directed sharp criticism at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's inner circle, accusing them of attempting to undermine her during the Likud primaries. She asserted that she had "laid down on the line for the Prime Minister and the right-wing government" and would consider a "realistic offer" from a party that respects her electoral strength and potential to serve as a minister in a significant role, "in the name of my voters."

Gottlieb further criticized the leadership and campaign team, vowing not to be "trampled" while fighting against the "rule of officials" and the Supreme Court's rulings on political and security matters. She claimed Netanyahu, advised by his staff, "specifically targeted" her in the primaries, stating she secured the 12th spot due to the "trust of right-wing Likud members" but was pushed to 20th place due to reserved slots.

She also detailed her exclusion from the Likud campaign and denied roles by Netanyahu, alleging campaign staff briefed against her, portraying her as a weakening force within the party. Gottlieb reiterated her mandate to achieve "right-wing governance" and curb the Supreme Court's "irresponsible conduct." She stated Netanyahu decided against her serving as Justice Minister or even chairing the Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee, opting to sideline her.

These statements follow reports that Gottlieb engaged in talks with another party and presented an ultimatum to Netanyahu for the 12th spot on the Likud list. However, sources within Likud indicated that her demands and ultimatum were rejected.
