Likud Lawmaker Tali Gottlieb Explores Moving to Another Party

Member of Knesset Tali Gottlieb, a Likud party lawmaker, is reportedly in discussions to potentially join a different political party, according to Israeli news channel Channel 12 correspondent Amit Segal. The move follows Gottlieb's disappointment with her placement in the recent Likud primaries.

Gottlieb secured the 20th spot on the Likud's national list in the primaries. This result was considered a relative disappointment for her, as earlier polls among party members had suggested she would rank much higher, potentially within the top ten. Furthermore, her actual position on the Knesset list is expected to be pushed back further after the inclusion of reserved slots for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and various regional allocations.

Following the primary results, Gottlieb publicly expressed anger and criticized the prime minister's inner circle, alleging deliberate attempts to undermine her candidacy among party members. She claimed that despite efforts to weaken her, Likud voters fought for her.

Now, Segal's report suggests that the ongoing tension and frustration over the primary outcome are prompting Gottlieb to re-evaluate her political future outside of the ruling Likud party.
