Gottlieb Accuses Netanyahu of Betrayal Amid Party Switch Rumors

Member of Knesset (MK) Tali Gottlieb has accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of "stabbing her in the back" after she threatened to leave the Likud party if not placed higher on the party's Knesset list. Gottlieb expressed her disappointment following the Likud primaries, where she did not secure a favorable position. She had reportedly demanded the 12th spot on the list, threatening departure if her demand was not met. Netanyahu's office rejected her ultimatum.

Simultaneously, reports indicate that Gottlieb is in discussions to join another party, with Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) expressing openness to offering her a spot on their slate. However, Otzma Yehudit leader Itamar Ben-Gvir stated he would only reserve a place for Gottlieb if she officially leaves Likud or is formally removed, and only upon a request from the Prime Minister. The decision is expected soon, as the deadline for submitting party lists for the 26th Knesset is approaching in one week.

If Gottlieb were to leave Likud, MK Gila Gamliel, who was placed in an unfavorable position on the Likud list, would reportedly be reinstated to the 25th spot.
