Likud Activists Criticize Tali Gottlieb Over Netanyahu Support Amid Rumors

Knesset member Tali Gottlieb has strongly denied reports that Nir Barkat attempted to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately after the October 7 attacks. However, many Likud members and activists have expressed anger and skepticism over her denial, sparking rumors about possible benefits she might have received in return. Michelle Prochter, a prominent Likud supporter of Netanyahu, publicly questioned what Gottlieb might have gained from Barkat to be the only Likud member defending him and denying reports by journalists Amit Segal and Moti Kastel. Prochter also accused Gottlieb of lying about Netanyahu wanting her as Justice Minister, citing Gottlieb’s refusal to withdraw her candidacy from the Judicial Selection Committee, which led to the appointment of Amit. Prochter further criticized Gottlieb as a self-serving political operator who lacks the Prime Minister’s trust and urged party members not to support her in future primaries. Meanwhile, a Likud Knesset member announced he would not run in the upcoming primaries, reflecting internal party tensions.
