Likud Party Slams MK Tali Gottlieb Over "Baseless" Claims

The Likud party issued a rare and sharp condemnation of Member of Knesset Tali Gottlieb on Monday, refuting her claims of a "hidden plea deal" and calling them a "complete lie without any basis." The party's statement came after Gottlieb accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's associates and the party's campaign staff of attempting to sabotage her during the party's primaries and sideline her from the campaign.

Gottlieb had alleged that despite a campaign against her, she secured the 12th spot based on the trust of right-wing delegates, but was pushed to the 20th position on the Knesset list due to reserved slots. She further claimed that campaign insiders continued to brief against her, portraying her as a weakening factor within the faction.

Additionally, Gottlieb stated that the Prime Minister excluded her from the election campaign and decided against appointing her as Justice Minister or Chair of the Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee. She asserted that her election was intended to advance right-wing governance and curb the perceived excessive power of the Supreme Court, but campaign officials avoided addressing these issues, effectively pushing her to the periphery.
