Likud MK Tali Gottlieb Launches Fierce Attack on Journalist Yinon Magal Over Political Rumors

Tali Gottlieb, a Likud member of the Knesset, sharply criticized journalist Yinon Magal following his reports about internal discussions in the Prime Minister's office regarding her political future within the party. Gottlieb accused Magal of spreading falsehoods, specifically denying claims that the Prime Minister was currently considering the possibility of her taking the party mandate and joining Otzma Yehudit. She emphasized that the Prime Minister is not holding any such discussions at this time.

Gottlieb highlighted her electoral strength, stating she could command six seats if she ran independently, but affirmed her loyalty to the right-wing bloc and the Likud party. She also accused Magal of attempting to intimidate voters and disparage her, while noting that senior Shin Bet officials are reportedly concerned about her influence. Gottlieb further referenced her past professional relationship with Magal and dismissed his behavior as unimpressive.

In her remarks, Gottlieb also addressed Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, calling him a "dangerous infiltrator" and accusing Magal of acting as Bar's mouthpiece to whitewash Bar's responsibility for the October surprise. She concluded with a personal rebuke to Magal, stating that the God he believes in no longer believes in him. Gottlieb promised a formal denial from the Likud party would follow soon.
