United Airlines to Restore All Four US Routes from Israel

United Airlines is set to gradually reinstate all four of its direct flight routes between Israel and the United States, signaling a significant recovery in air travel. The airline had previously reduced its offerings to the US, but the market is now showing signs of resurgence.

The return will be phased, starting with the New York route, followed by Chicago, Washington, and San Francisco. Flights to Newark, New York, are scheduled to resume on September 9, 2026, initially with two daily flights, potentially increasing to 18 weekly flights. United will restart service to Chicago on October 26, 2026, with four weekly flights, and to Washington D.C. on October 28, 2026, with three weekly flights. The final route to be reinstated will be to San Francisco, with flights expected to resume on March 30, 2027, operating three times a week.

This expansion by United comes amid a strengthening competitive landscape for flights to the US. Israir plans to launch its own direct flights to New York soon, joining Delta Air Lines on that route. This increased competition, particularly on the New York line, could lead to more options and potentially lower prices for Israeli travelers, especially during off-peak periods.

The influx of more airlines and seats on these routes is anticipated to drive down fares, with the possibility of prices returning to three-digit dollar figures during promotions or specific travel dates.
