Gal Gadot Confirms She Will Not Return as Wonder Woman in DC Films

International film star Gal Gadot confirmed in a recent interview with ScreenRant that there are currently no negotiations for her to reprise her role as Wonder Woman or take on any other part in the DC cinematic universe. This announcement ends the period of uncertainty regarding her future in the franchise, now led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gadot revealed that her last significant discussions with the studio concerned the development of a third Wonder Woman film, a project that was ultimately canceled. Since then, she has not heard from the DC studios about returning to the role.

Addressing the possibility of another actress taking over the character, Gadot expressed her support, calling Wonder Woman an amazing and important figure to many and wishing her successor well on the journey. Gadot’s final appearances as Wonder Woman were guest roles in "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" and "The Flash." Meanwhile, DC has begun developing a new Wonder Woman film with screenwriter Anna Nogueira assigned to write the script.

Despite fan speculation about Gadot returning to the DC universe in a different role, she appears focused on other projects, including her new thriller "The Runner." Gadot’s tenure as Wonder Woman began in 2016 with "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and now seems to have concluded.
