Israeli actress Gal Gadot has officially ended speculation about her return as Wonder Woman in the newly rebooted DC Universe (DCU). In a recent interview with ScreenRant ahead of her Amazon Prime thriller The Runner, Gadot stated that no discussions have taken place regarding her reprising the role or taking on any other character in the new DCU. She recalled that the last significant talks were when the studio was developing a third Wonder Woman film, but since then, no further negotiations occurred.

Gadot expressed gratitude for having portrayed the iconic character since her debut in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, highlighting the deep affection many fans have for Wonder Woman. She wished whoever takes on the role next an enjoyable journey with the character. Gadot’s last appearances as Wonder Woman were brief cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash, marking the conclusion of the previous DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

The uncertainty about her return followed James Gunn’s appointment as co-CEO of DC Studios and the soft reboot of the DC cinematic universe. While some actors like Jason Momoa have transitioned into the new DCU, Gadot’s involvement remained unclear.
