Yair Netanyahu Urges Right-Wing Unity to Prevent Vote Splitting Ahead of Elections

Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has intensified his political involvement on social media, advocating for unity within the right-wing bloc ahead of upcoming elections. He warned that separate runs by right-wing parties could lead to wasted votes and jeopardize the bloc's ability to secure a majority.

In a series of posts, Yair Netanyahu specifically urged Itamar Ben-Gvir, leader of Otzma Yehudit, to unite with Bezalel Smotrich, head of the Religious Zionist Party. He described a separate run as a "Russian roulette" risking the country's future and potentially enabling a government led by Avigdor Lieberman, Mansour Abbas, Yair Golan, and Gadi Eizenkot.

Yair Netanyahu also addressed members of Ofer Winter's "Amcha Israel" party, cautioning that even favorable polls do not guarantee crossing the electoral threshold. He cited past elections where similar scenarios led to losses for the right-wing bloc. He warned that a fragmented right-wing vote could empower Mansour Abbas and his party, Ra'am, to become kingmakers in the next government.

He outlined three possible outcomes if Winter's party runs separately, all resulting in a government led by Lieberman, Golan, Eizenkot, and Abbas. Yair Netanyahu's comments reflect growing concerns within the right-wing camp about vote dilution and the strategic necessity of party mergers to maintain political dominance.
